A Brief Word on Universal Acceptance of a Pope

Like I said in a comment earlier this morning, that which we’re attempting to provide here with our posts on the condition of the papacy is clarity in the middle of escalating confusion. As Amoris Laetitia muddied the waters sin and union, the thesis that Benedict is still the pope muddies that our comprehension of Church authority, infallibility, and the papacy.

Most of us know that Francis is a issue. And we have to discover ways to manage that. But I don’t see how we can tackle anything effectively if we could ’t even agree on the Church’s ability to do a totally basic, fundamental job: tell us that our leader is. This is imperative due to the charism of the job of the papacy. We must know if we owe submission to the man who holds it via any authentic practice of the Magisterium or never.

This is the reason the Church teaches that it is infallibly sure that a pope universally accepted is that the pope. Francis was accepted — as Robert Siscoe said, this isn’t mathematical unanimity, but functional universality. John of St. Thomas clarifies what universal approval includes:

All this remains to be determined, then, is the precise moment once the approval of this Church becomes sufficient to render the proposition de fide. Is it when the cardinals propose the elect into the faithful that are in the immediate locality, or only when knowledge of this election has spread through the whole world, where the Church is to be found?

I REPLY that (as we’ve mentioned above) the unanimous election of the cardinals and their declaration is like a definition supplied by the bishops of a Council officially gathered. Additionally, the approval of this Church isalso, for us, like a confirmation of the declaration.  Nowthe acceptance of the Church is realized equally negatively, from the fact that the Church does not contradict the news of this election where it becomes understood, and positively, from the gradual acceptance of the prelates of the Church, starting with the place of the election, and dispersing throughout the remainder of earth.  When men see or hear that a Pope has been elected, and that the election isn’t contested, they’re obliged to think that that man is the Pope, and also to accept him.

I am posting this now for a point of reference. I see a good deal of debate over what “universal acceptance” means, however it’s considerably simpler than people think. And if the explanation of John of St. Thomas is right — and I don’t have any reason to feel that it isn’t — then we can observe that Francis was universally accepted.

I strongly recommend that those who would like a more comprehensive explanation of the concept of peaceful and universal approval read this.

Day 27, USGF Operation ‘Reparation 54’ – Chastity

“The eye is the lamp of the body; hence if your eye is clear, your whole body will be filled with light.” (Matthew 6:22)

“Can you not understand that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, which temple you are.” (1 Corinthians 3:16)

“Don’t say you have chaste minds in case you have unchaste eyes, because an unchaste eye is that the messenger of an unchaste heart” -St. Augustine

“Now, though the age of persecution is goneyet our peace gets its own martyrdom, since though we bend not the throat to the sword, nevertheless using a religious weapon we slay fleshly desires in our hearts.” -Pope St. Gregory I

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person and therefore the inner unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being. Sexuality, in which man’s belonging to the bodily and biological world is expressed, becomes personal and truly human when it is integrated into the relationship of one person to another, in the complete and lifelong mutual gift of a man and a woman. The virtue of chastity therefore involves the integrity of the individual and the integrality of the gift. (CCC 2337)

The chaste person maintains the integrity of all the powers of life and love placed in him. This integrity ensures that the openness of the individual; it’s opposed to some other behavior that will impair it. It tolerates neither a dual lifetime nor duplicity in speech. (CCC 2338)

Chastity includes an apprenticeship in self-mastery, which can be training in human freedom. The choice is clear: either man governs his passions and finds peace, or he lets himself be dominated by them and becomes unhappy. (CCC 2339)

This Lent, I am requesting that we join together begging to the conversion of poor sinners. I think we need to go after the most influential who do the most damage. To begin with, in regards to mind will be those who direct Catholics in the wrong direction. Notably, but not limited to, individuals who are in places of power and profess to be Catholic, although recommending falsehoods and immorality, causing Catholics to believe that this is the “New Catholicism. ”

“LOVE YOUR ENEMIES LENT” goes for 40 days, beginning on Ash Wednesday and going till April 15 (Day 54). We’ll name someone each day, and keep a running record. I invite you to keep a notebook, and record each name, and pray over that notebook each day.

Permit ’s request God to convert those poor sinners!!! Today, we pray for Catherine Cortez Masto.

St. Michael the Archangel Prayer of Reparation
(Given in 1916 by St. Michael to children at Fatima)

“Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, I adore Thee profoundly, and I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of the Exact Same Son Jesus Christ found in all the Tabernacles of the world, in reparation for all the sacrileges, outrages, and indifferences by which He Himself is offended. Throughout the infinite merits of His Most Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners.”

Daily Prayer for Priests

O Almighty Eternal God, look on the face of Thy Christ, and for the love of Him that is the Eternal High Priest, have pity Thy priests. Bear in mind, O most compassionate God, that they are weak and fragile human beings. Stir them up the grace of their vocation which is in them by the imposition of the bishop’s hands. Keep them near Thee, lest the Enemy prevail from them, so that they may never do anything in the slightest degree unworthy of their sublime vocation.

O Jesus, I pray Thee for Thy faithful and fervent priests; for Thy unfaithful and tepid priests; for Thy priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields; such as Thy tempted priests; such as Thy lonely and desolate priests; for Thy youthful priests; such as Thy aged priests; for Thy sick priests, for Thy dying priests; for the spirits of Thy priests in purgatory.

But over all I emailed to Thee the priests dearest to me; the priest who baptized me; the priests who absolved me from my sins; the priests at whose Masses I assisted, and who gave me Thy Body and Blood in Holy Communion; the priests who taught me and educated me, or helped and encouraged meall of the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way, particularly (name here). O Jesus, keep them all close to Thy Heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in life. Amen.

Why Are Divided. Stay True to Who You Are: A Loved and Precious Child of God

“However, you have to remember, beloved, the predictions from the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; they stated for youpersonally, ‘In the last time there’ll be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.’ It’s these who set up divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; maintain yourselves in the love of God; wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And convince some, who doubt; save some, by snatching them from the fire; on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment spotted by the flesh” (Letter of St. Jude 1:17-23).

St. Jude is the Patron Saint of Lost Causes. With rampant division on earth, our Church and in our homes, possibly it’s time we lean on St. Jude a little more today.

Why is there so much division today?

Jesus exhorts us to be united and to remain in the truth, even when the entire world will despise us for this

“Holy Father, keep them in your title that you have given meso that they may be one just because we’re just one …I gave them your word, and the world hated thembecause they don’t belong to the world any more than I belong to the world.  I do not request that you take them out of the world but you keep them from the Evil One.  They don’t belong to this world any more than I belong to the whole world.  Consecrate them in the truth. The word is truth” (John 17:11, 14-17).

In a previous passage, Jesus states,

“When the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me . If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its very own. Because it is, you don’t belong to the world, but I have chosen you from this world. That is why the world hates you” (John 15:18-19).

Are there a lot of branch today? Since we are living in an information era, and the huge majority of people who “restrain the message” appear to ignore, or even have disdain forbiblical principles. To put it differently, we’re being “programmed by the worldly. ” individuals who live on a steady diet of television and movies that herald such matters as fornication, sodomy and adultery, are particularly prone to this indoctrination.

A recent Pew Reseach study shows that Christianity has seen a dramatic drop from their own positions. The most critical fall is among Millennials, that happen to be the most “tuned in” to pop culture.  As a growing number of people fall prey to the indoctrination, “conventional ” people become fewer and fewer and more, consequently, viewed as “out of touch with those times. ” We truly are getting a “remnant. ”

However, I am especially worried about the accelerated rate of the indoctrination in only the last couple of decades. With the advent of high speed net, the anti-God indoctrination is in hyperdrive. This, while the huge majority of our religious leaders have capitulated into the culture.

Think about the change of attitude of the country toward gay marriage. In only 2008 – along with the presidential elections – both Democrats and Republicans conducted “in favour ” of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act). Only 7 short decades later, the Democrats find their support of Gay Marriage for a make or break issue which may win them the 2016 election. Republicans, and even most leaders within the Catholic Church, are opting to remain mostly silent about the problem. Why? As per a Pew Research study, in 2001 Americans overwhelmingly compared same-sex marriage by a 57% to 35 percent margin. Just a very few short decades later, we now find the vast majority of Americans (52 percent ) supporting same-sex union, compared with 40 percent who oppose it. Literally overnight, the nation has flipped on this matter and Americans are now ready to enable the redefinition of marriage … a thing that has not occurred since the dawn of civilization.

Listen, in spite of the increasing ridicule we get as our numbers grow bigger, what does it really mean to be “conservative? ” It simply means we are “staying house ” while some are “moving away. ” we’re staying in God’s reality, as demonstrated through His term – scripture and tradition. Many believe the “same webpage ” which can bring unity is to “go with the majority. ” Venerable Fulton Sheen once said, “principles don’t rely on a majority vote. Wrong is wrong, even though everybody isn’t right. Right is right, even if nobody is ideal. ”

Our mission isn’t to win the debate. We aim to win souls for Christ … into His fact … to His love. It is a very tough mission, if we are facing such powerful forces as the radicalized Main Stream Media, both Hollywood and academia, however we still possess the supernatural power of God on both sides. Keep praying, keep loving, rather than contradict that who you are: A loved and precious child of God.

Pope: Imitate God by being merciful to others

ROME — The season of Lent is a time for Christians to reflect on and practice that the winner of God toward the others rather than waste off sitting in judgment of others, Pope Francis stated.

Jesus’ control to “be merciful, just as your father is merciful” is a reminder for both Christians that God consistently has revealed them mercy even when they were at their worst, ” the pope said in his homily March 18 through morning Mass in the Domus Sanctae Marthae.

“Just how many individuals say, ‘I’ve done such horrible things. I have made my place in hell, so I could ’t return. ’ However, do they think about the mercy of God? ” he requested.

Reflecting on the afternoon ’s Gospel reading from St. Luke, the pope said Jesus calls on his disciples “to mimic God” by demonstrating mercy, being forgiving and not judging others.

God’s buff, he explained, is a “good thing” that must not be forgotten even at the worst of circumstances. He recalled the story of a grief-stricken woman who informed St. John Vianney that her husband was after he committed suicide by leaping off a bridge.

“And (St. John Vianney) stated, ‘But wait a moment, ma’’m, as between the bridge and the river, there’s the winner of God. ’ To the very end, to the end, there’s the winner of God,” that the pope said.

Jesushe continued, also cautions his disciples not to judge others, which is “a habit that gets mixed up in our lives without us realizing it. ”

“Let us think about the number of times daily we estimate. All of us. But it always starts through a dialog, a remark about someone else: ‘However look, that individual had plastic surgery! They’re uglier than before,’” he clarified.

Finally, Jesus also requires Christians to become generous and never have “closed pockets” when giving alms to those in need, ” the pope said.

While providing material aid to the poor is really essential, Francis reported that Lent is the opportunity for women and men too to be generous in giving “religious alms” by spending some time with someone in need, visiting the sick or sharing a smile.

“Let’s move forward in Lent at least by succeeding in not condemning other people in our conversations, rather than judging and by forgiving,” that the pope stated, “so that the Lord could give us this grace, as it’s a grace that the Lord provides us if we ask for this and make the attempt to go ahead and be generous with other people. ”
